Sainsbury's TU £28 lightweight padded jacket is 'perfect' for autumn

The jacket is sold in sizes 8 to 24 and comes in four different colours

Shoppers are snapping up a new jacket from supermarket retailer Sainsbury's - hailing it as "great value for money" and "perfect" for the autumn. The supermarket has introduced a host of new autumn fashion pieces to its Tu Clothing section.

It includes jumpers, cardigans, hoodies and coats - ready to layer up for the colder months. And one of the top-rated items on the website is the Lightweight Padded Jacket, as reported by Chronicle Live.

The popular jacket is sold in sizes 8 to 24 and is available in four different colours - black, beige, green or lilac. The jacket features a high neck to keep you warm and a zip-award hood, with a zip fastening and two front pockets.

It has a diamond quilted design for added style and is machine-washable. The Lightweight Padded Jacket has a near-perfect rating on Sainsbury's Tu Clothing website with a score of 4.9.

One recent review said: "Bought for my daughter. She loves it. Comfortable and lightweight." Another said: "Really happy with this coat.

"It is light but warm and the fact that you can pack it away into the little bag which comes with it is really helpful too. Great coat too for the price. I would say the colour errs more towards beige than grey but it is still a really nice colour."

One shopper describing it as "perfect for autumn", said: "I bought this as I wanted a lightly padded jacket for the Autumn when the weather cools. I’ve not worn it yet but it feels perfect for what I want. Very good quality at a most reasonable price.

"Sizing is spot-on. I have a size 12 and it fits perfectly. Nice handy rain hood discretely zipped inside the collar."

And Mags added: "Fits well, very soft, comfortable material. Has hood and packs away in to its own pouch. Lightweight but warm."

However, not everyone was so impressed with the jacket - a couple of shoppers left negative reviews, with one person complaining that "the colour was very different from the photo" while two others remarked that the "sleeves were too short".

New Look sells a Hooded Rain Anorak for £34.99 - which comes in five different colours and sizes ranging between 6 to 18. While Amazon stocks a Regatta Women's Helfa Lightweight Insulated Hooded Baffle Quilted Jacket.

It comes in seven different colours with prices ranging from £14.21 to £45.40. It has a 4.0 rating on Amazon with more than 100 reviews.
